After a two year break, I’ve returned to school to finish my biological conservation degree. This is a project for my environmental ethics professor. The album isn’t perfect as it was put together in less than a month. Spotty mixing, rough vocals, but the emotion is there. It centers around Dr. Wei Qiwei, the professor who has spent most of his academic career trying desperately to save the Chinese Paddlefish and Chinese Sturgeon from extinction. He and his team unfortunately were not able to undo the damage done to the Chinese Paddlefish’s population by the Three Gorges Dam on the Yangtze and overfishing. Dr. Wei Qiwei held one of, if not the very last, specimen in his arms with all of his hope and love only to never see its face again. Thank you dearly for your efforts and may the memory of its life live forever in our hearts and our dreams.
